Description

A rough black smile during a dark conversation about past and future from the series blackness. The basic idea of this series and of this selected take was to express my own emotions through another ones expressions.

The picture have been made in the last October in Vienna together with Ariane, who gave me afterwards gracefully the permission for this release. After post-processing during the last days of May I wanted to share this gloomy smile with you.

Those low-light shots are really difficult, the missed focus doesn't hurt so badly here because it fits the concept. A distraction is the crisp highlight on the otherwise very dark bottle on the right. If you could weaken that a bit I think the main subject gets a bit more attention.

The composition is a bit too close in my opinion, just a bit more space on the left would have given the character more importance. A face-in-the-upper-part-of-the-picture would have been an option, what do you think? This would have given the bottle more of a balancing role as well. Oh, and the background is really good!
